From Drunk Elephant, a feast for the eyes

With the return of plane-bound lifestyles and the need to adapt to drier climes comes Drunk Elephant’s plumping Ceramighty AF Eye Balm. Conceptualized by founder Tiffany Masterson as “an SOS for super-dry, tired eyes,” it’s packed with ceramides, vitamin F, and omega-rich plant oils and butters, and then whipped into a light formula that belies its long-lasting emollient properties without that dreaded heavy or greasy feeling typical of most balms and eye creams.

“A normal eye cream might have 0.5 percent ceramides, but we really wanted this one to provide deep, long-lasting, meaningful moisture, so we upped it to 3 percent, which is huge,” she notes. Soothing Avena sativa (oat) extract helps to calm skin and relieve the appearance of fatigue around the eye area. This combination also makes it the ideal prep before eye makeup as it allows everything to sit in place.

From Clarins, brigher is healthier

Brightening is no longer synonymous with whitening, and it’s no longer an Asia-exclusive. Dark spots and uneven skin are caused not only by harmful UV rays but also by pollution and blemishes — a problem everyone can experience even with religious sunscreen application anywhere in the world. This is why Clarins White Plus is now Bright Plus.

Launched in the Philippines under bright summer sunshine from inside 1120 House, I had no fear because with this change comes a blend of botanicals with more stable yet higher potency of vitamin C. Rose-myrtle and vitamin C-rich acerola cherry seed work together to alleviate skin congestion, and help revive dull skin to reveal a natural inner glow.

Organic sea lily, lady’s mantle, acerola cherry fruit, and organic elder, along with a potent vitamin C derivative help reduce the appearance of dark spots while soothing and comforting the skin for a visibly brighter, more even complexion. I find this new blend to be most sensorially elegant and moisturizing in the Advanced Brightening Dark Spot-Targeting Serum (pictured), but it also comes in a Moisturizing Emulsion, Milky Essence, and a Treatment Essence.
