Eat-stagram

MANILA, Philippines - Instagram can be a gold mine for food lovers from all woks of life. If you’re crazy about the latest on where and what to eat in the city — or how certain dishes can be prepared to please the eyes, then these people are must-follows in the square world we hold dear.

@mylenechung or @pepper_ph

As the face behind Photo Kitchen and one of the founders of food blog Pepper, Mylene Chung has enviable photography skills, and a drool-worthy photo feed. Her Instagram combines her best work, including some snaps for culinary companies that she’s been commissioned for. Her food styling is definitely topnotch, making her photos look like they’ve come out of a Kinfolk spread.

Pepper is best known as Google’s top food blog in the Philippines, and their great food articles are often hilarious to boot. Pepper’s newly-launched Instagram feed has become one to follow — since it combines food snaps from all their writers, it only means spam after spam of recipes, restaurant eats, and recommendations.

@voodoochef

Ramon Antonio is one of those chefs that people often whisper about — people talk about his genius and his crazy confections, but sans restaurant, it’s almost next-to-impossible to get a hand on his food. Check out his Instagram instead, and dream about his excellent takes on Filipino food and produce, from kuhol congee to foiesilog.

@nekkidchef

JJ Yulo is a behemoth in the Filipino food scene, and has quickly become known for his passion projects. As the man behind Pinoy Eats World, Manly Eats, and other applauded culinary events, he’s become the consummate insider, getting invited to restaurants before they’ve even opened. Follow his Instagram if you want to be in the know, too.

@edwardeats

This guy is definitely crazy. Edward Eats is a sometime blogger, and full-time chef who is currently doing his stagiare in Copenhagen. For his 27th birthday, he decided to celebrate by going around Europe, and eating in 27 Michelin-starred restaurants. Yes, it sounds way too indulgent, and a little obnoxious, but food fanatics can live vicariously through his decadent Instagram feed. There are even cameos of famous names in food.

@tenthousandthspoon

Jac of Ten Thousandth Spoon is one of those rare bloggers. Rather than concentrating on new eats and food reviews, she carefully crafts insane, Martha Stewart-worthy photoshoots at home. She meticulously photographs everything from her own baking recipes to what she took out for lunch.

@jinlovestoeat

This might be a controversial opinion, but most food bloggers are overrated — except for Jin. She is a restless traveller, and seems to eat everywhere and everything, from the most high-end fare down to the craziest unknown street food. Her Instagram looks like she’s just having tons of fun, while eating her way across the globe.

@aliciasy

As the lifestyle editor of Town and Country, Alicia Sy has one of the best Instagram feeds out there. She gets invites to the best society dinners and lunches, but her photos never get pretentious. Instead, she does a mighty fine job of providing her followers with quick bites into the food industry, while snapping tons of great restaurant dishes for her soon-to-be released guide, Eat Out Now.
