It’s no surprise that most of fashion’s most influential designers have spawned imitators too numerous to count. Imitation, as they say, is the sincerest form of flattery. But as far as copycats go, few go the distance and improve on the design — making them more wearable or easier to mix and match.
Chinese Laundry’s collection of bags and clutches clearly cull references from fashion’s biggest and brightest accessories makers, but updated with a young, frisky charm that doesn’t get lost in translation.
Take their black rectangular clutch with a wooden frame. Sizeable enough to fit a large wallet, keys, some makeup and an iPhone, the chic purse packs on style and substance. And at P995, it’s cheap to boot.
