I have experienced many transitions in my life, especially as a working mother. I know what it’s like to work fulltime as an employee at an office, work as a home-based freelancer and work virtually anywhere as a fulltime home-based employee.

I know how challenging it can be to juggle marriage, motherhood, work, managing a home, serving in ministry and everything else in between! Yet, despite the challenges, I know that I would not trade my current status as a work-at-home mom for a fulltime office-based job, no matter how much I would get paid. I love being able to be in the “front row” seeing our kids grow up—it is such a blessing and privilege!

It’s my hope that more mothers will be able to experience what I have now, too. That’s why I am happy that my friend and fellow homeschooling mom Teresa Gumap-as Dumadag has written an eBook to help mothers who may want to change their current careers. In it, she shares lessons and practical tips from her own experience that will surely be helpful to mothers who are planning or are currently going through a career transition.

Lessons from one mom’s transitions

Beyond being an Amazon bestselling author, inspirational speaker and career coach, I know Teresa to be a devoted wife and mother who wants to use her talents and gifts to help others. This is one reason why she is making her newly-released eBook “From Career Woman to SAHM, WAHM then Businessmom: Lessons from My Transitions” available for free download on Amazon during its virtual launch from April 18 to 19, 2018.

If you’re wondering what “qualifies” Teresa to share her experiences, here is a brief background of her working life:

Teresa used to travel often around the Philippines to conduct trainings and workshops as part of her fulltime job. When she got married and pregnant with her firstborn child, she decided to leave her high-paying job to become a stay-at-home mom (SAHM) so she could prioritize building a family with her husband. She now has her own business, and is the president and founder of Full Life Cube Publishing and Events Services.

Teresa shares why she wrote her eBook with us: “This book is my way of paying it forward. Through it, I hope to help other mothers become successful in their own transitions. I hope to help many women notice the signs in their lives; and thus recognize that it’s time for them to transition to a new season.”

She adds, “Through these personal anecdotes of mine, I hope to encourage other women to make a leap of faith into the life that they have been dreaming for themselves and for the ones they love.”

As her way of helping other moms with their own transitions, Teresa is inviting mothers from all over the Philippines—and the world—to join her virtual book launch this April 18 to 19 by downloading the eBook and sharing about it on their Facebook or Twitter accounts with the hashtags #transitionsebook and #careertransition.

“Those who will join the virtual book launch can win raffle prizes like coaching sessions with me, downloadable planning pages, access to video talks on entrepreneurship, blogging and establishing a virtual career or business, and gift certificates for free use of co-working spaces from our sponsors that include Dojo 8 Coliving Space, Lifesprings Community Center, and The Learning Lodge,” Teresa says. “I’m so grateful for the support of these companies, and our media partner WhenInManila.com.”

She hopes that mothers, especially Filipino moms, will take the opportunity to get her eBook for free. “Amazon Prime members can download the eBook for free before and after the two-day promotion, while regular Amazon.com customers can purchase the eBook for $2.99 after April 19,” she adds. “Those who would like to know more about the virtual launch can visit the ‘Transitions eBook Virtual Launch’ event page on Facebook.”

Tips for your transitions

To end, Teresa shares the following pointers for those who are facing their own transitions:

1. Give yourself permission to change the course of your life and to steer it to the direction of your dreams. Don’t assume the victim mentality. You have the power to effect change in your life.

2. It’s never too late or too early to make a career change or career transition.

3. Believe in yourself and in your abilities. Don’t let the negative words or disapproval of other people discourage you.
