‘Assemble and Launch’ at Philippine Science Centrum

MANILA, Philippines -  Dr. Celedonio A. Salvador Elementary School Team (children’s category) and St. Joseph Parochial School-Anonas CubaoTeam  (teenagers’ category) were adjudged first prizewinners in the recently concluded water rocket event dubbed “Assemble and Launch” and organized by the Philippine Science Centrum in Marikina City.

Using 1.5 PET bottles, cut folders, and a variety of materials, the student participants in teams were able to design their own rockets through the workshop facilitated by engineer Roland Moya. They had the experience of making it fly and try to hit the target during the competition on accuracy held at the Amphitheater, Riverbanks Center.

Gracing the awarding rites were engineer Nicanor S. Villaseñor III, PFST board member, and May M. Pagsinohin, PFST executive director. This water rocket event was made possible through the sponsorship of and in partnership with UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines; Will Decena & Associates, Inc.; Riverbanks Development Corp.; Coca-Cola Bottlers, Inc.; Science Centrum Fabrication, Inc.; DZRH; Prof. Cora Salumbides; Engr. Lorenzo Banda; and Nature’s Spring.
