WATCH: Typewriter that types Comic Sans font

MANILA, Philippines – Comic Sans has long been dubbed as the world’s most hated font. It has been mocked to the point that some even created websites to express how senseless the comical font is.

While most people hate the font, some don’t. One of them is Pittsburgh-based artist Jesse England. To show that Comic Sans is really not that bad, he created the Sincerity Machine, a typewriter that only types in Comic Sans.

"I’m not particularly enamored with this font, but I don’t think it deserves the flak it gets,” he said on the video.

England said he created the machine as part of his thesis – to question how we create, consume, store (and fetishize) media. In a report by CNN, England also told that he chose the font to “provoke a reaction.”

Judging by the comments on YouTube, his mission is already accomplished. One user left a revolting comment: “I’m going to destroy this machine.”
