Puso at Sigasig: 40 years of Metrobank Foundation

MANILA, Philippines — The Metrobank Foundation celebrated its 40th anniversary last Feb. 21 at the Le Pavilion, Metropolitan Park in Pasay City.

Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI) president Aniceto Sobrepeña and MBFI Board of Advisers chairman Ret. Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban present the ‘Generosity’ sculpture to Federal Land Inc. chairman and MBFI vice chairman Alfred Ty, MBFI trustee and senior vice president Anjanette Dy Buncio, and MBFI corporate secretary Alesandra Ty.

With the theme, “Puso at Sigasig,” the occasion honored 40 recipients of the Award for Continuing Excellence and Service (ACES) selected from its roster of outstanding teachers, soldiers, police officers, journalists and scholars. Institutional partners from the government, academe, media, civil society and business were also honored through the Metrobank Foundation Partners in Empowerment, Advocacy and Commitment to Excellence (PEACE) recipients.

The night also commemorated its late founder and chairman Dr. George S.K. Ty.

Philstar president & CEO Miguel Belmonte received the 2019 MBFI PEACE Award from MBFI president Aniceto Sobrepeña.
