MANILA, Philippines - Ambassador Thomas hosted a small dinner at his residence recently in honor of the U.S. Embassy’s newly arrived Deputy Chief of Mission, Brian L. Goldbeck and his wife, Narangerel Shirendev. Friends from many different circles in Manila attended, including representatives from government, the arts and cultural communities, as well as business and media.
Goldbeck was the U.S. Consul General in Guangzhou, China. He has also served in Ulaanbaatar, Addis Ababa, Seoul (twice), Hong Kong, Beijing, Sanaa, and Washington, D.C. Born and raised in Wisconsin, he was educated at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and at the University of Southern California.
