L’Arc en Ciel at Tagaytay Highlands

A large collaborative work by four L’arc artists — Elaine O. Herbosa, Alex Sibug, Luna Arguelles and Connie Quirino — depicts the flora and fauna and distinct features of Tagaytay Highlands in “Joie de Vivre.”

MANILA, Philippines - L’Arc en Ciel presents an exhibition which opens on March 29 at the Tagaytay Highlands mountain resort.

The atelier is home to artist Mia Herbosa, a McDowell awardee from the Art Students’ League of New York. Joining Mia in the exhibit are Alfred Galura, Mark Kevin Gonzales, Elaine Herbosa, Nina Herbosa, Margie Villonco, Sky de Leon, Margie Villonco, Alex Sibug, Connie Quirino, Pilar Quiros, JV Calanoc, Luna Arguelles and Carla Kim.

The exhibit, which runs for more than a month, chronicles each artist’s journey in fine art. Mark Kevin Gonzalez, an award-winning artist in New York, is venturing back to Philippine shores with this exhibit. Sky de Leon, a 14-year-old prodigy renders the different incarnations of Madonnas through the centuries. Luna Arguelles captures form in a romantic interplay between light and shadow in her still life compositions. Alfred Galura shows complete mastery of color and structure in his watercolor creations. Connie Quirino, an Alcuaz protégé, shows how color is “salted” to render realism with an impressionistic twist.

The exhibit is on view until May 15. For inquiries, call or SMS Luna Arguelles at 0917-8901219.
