‘Art 2 Art’ presents Triple Fret

MANILA, Philippines - Triple Fret, the country’s only all-femaile guitar trio, will hold a mini-concert in Art 2 Art on May 11.

Produced by the Manila Broadcasting Company and hosted by “Ballerina ng Bayan” Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, Art 2 Art is aired every Sunday, 3:30 to 4 p.m. on DZRH (666 khz on the AM band), on cable television via RHTV and online through DZRH Live Streaming at www.dzrh.com.ph.

Triple Fret has a classical-contemporary repertoire consisting of Spanish guitar pieces, tangos, jazz standards, Filipino traditional love songs and other classical numbers.

On May 18, Liza Magtoto, the playwright behind the recent theater hit Rak of Aegis, featuring songs of the rock band, shares the challenges of writing for the stage. Magtoto, a writer for television, radio, video and print media, is also a theater performer and an artist-teacher with the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA).

On May 25, British choreographer Jonathan Watkins talks about the piece he is creating specially for Ballet Manila, which will be premiered in October. A former dancer with Britain’s The Royal Ballet Company, Watkins now focuses on choreography and movement direction for film, theater and television
