Kimono specialist Aki Tani at Chef Jessie Rockwell Club

Chef Jessie Rockwell Club lets diners experience the fine dining and the art of kimono dressing as it presents master Aki Tani, a licensed kimono specialist from Japan who will personally dress up guests in yukatta, Japanese summer dress in traditional kimono style on April 13 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Takumi or handmade Japanese slippers and other souvenirs will also be for sale.

Chef Jessie Rockwell Club is currently being renovated, but it is business as usual at basement 1, just one level down Rockwell Club.

Ulrike Ottinger at Yuchengco Museum

Yuchengco Museum presents “Ulrike Ottinger: Photo Exhibition,” a traveling exhibit from Germany that pays tribute to one of its most headstrong filmakers, Ulrike Ottinger, which opens on April 11 at Yuchengco Museum, RCBC Plaza, corner Ayala and Senator Gil J. Puyat Aves., Makati City. The show, which will be accompanied by Ottinger’s latest film Under Snow, is on view until May 10.

Organized by the Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with the Deutsche Kinemathek-Museum fur Film and Fernesehen, “Ulrike Ottinger” has been on tour around the world since 2012.
