UST Artlets stages theater production of gaming life

MANILA, Philippines - Artistang Artlets, the official theater guild of the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) which seeks to promote theater as an alternative educational tool presents a musical play, 2B Kontinyud, on Dec. 18, 19, and 20 at the Albertus Magnus auditorium of the university’s Education building.

Based on a popular farm simulation video game, Harvest Moon, the play is set in a perfect place called Kinoki Town where its citizens try to live normal lives when the game sets off, forming relationships and experiencing conflicts.  Also a satire, the play tackles political and social issues in the real and modern world with audiences also wondering who really controls the game and how the characters will escape their continued non-reality.

Written by Renz Lyndon Paguio, directed by John Dennis Santiago, and  produced  by Kris Joven Medalla, 2B Kontinyud  is Artistang Artlets offering on its 32nd season.

Staging  schedules on Dec 18 to 20 are 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.  For tickets and inquiries, call Anna Dacillo at 0917-8190350 or Carlo Lopez at 0927-9614068, or visit www.artistangartlets.com, the production’s official twitter (@2BKontinyud) and Facebook account (facebook.com/2BKontinyud).
