When Nelia T. Gonzalez turned 90 years old, her children and grandchildren feted her with a birthday asalto by gathering her associates in business, colleagues in the academe and partners from her many charities to celebrate at the Golden Bay Restaurant in Pasay City.
Gonzalez, president of Asiaworld Properties, a former UP Regent, and arguably the most senior active CEO in Philippine business, turned the surprise on her guests by making the milestone a fundraising event for the benefit of the Foundation for Carmelite Scholastics Inc., ERDA Tech and the Philippine Tuberculosis Society Inc.
The event, therefore, turned into an overflow of blessings for which the celebrator and her guests were extremely grateful.
