‘Men Who Matter’

MANILA, Philippines - It’s reigning men! 

PeopleAsia magazine recently held its much-anticipated “Men Who Matter” event at the New World Hotel in Makati City. The event honored men from diverse fields — politics, business, fashion, sports, media and television — who made significant contributions to society in the past year.

With sumptuous food and flowing drinks, the event opened with a fashion show by SM Men’s Fashion. 

PeopleAsia publisher and CEO Babe Romualdez, along with PeopleAsia president and DBP director Kevin Belmonte, PeopleAsia’s editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez and GM Beth Mendoza, presented the awards to this year’s batch of Men Who Matter. 

This year’s Men Who Matter include Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima PAGCOR chairman Cristino L. Naguiat Jr., TV star Richard Yap, Global Restaurant Concept CEO Archie Rodriguez, style arbiter Jing Monis, celebrity tour guide and human rights advocate Carlos Celdran, Philippine Tatler editor-in-chief Anton San Diego, club mogul Erik Cua, Golden ABC CEO Bernie Liu, FOX International Channel’s Jude Turcuato, supermodel Hideo Muraoka and Ateneo Blue Eagles’ Kiefer Ravena.

The event, hosted by Joey Mead-King, was graced by Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe, New Zealand Ambassador Reuben Levermore, Japanese  Embassy Consul General Keizo Takewaka, Canadian Embassy Consul General Steve Chapman, Trade Secretary Greg Domingo, Honorary Consuls Louie Ablaza of Zambia, Mellie Ablaza of Guatemala, Helen Ong of Angola, Evie Costa of Togo and Joe Assad of Lebanon, Singapore Airlines GM  Ranjan Jha, PAL’s Ria Carrion-Domingo and Kit Javier and SM’s Ayen Florendo, among others.

PeopleAsia’s Men Who Matter event was sponsored by Lexus, SM Men’s Fashion, L’Occitane, Facial Care, Titania and New World Makati Hotel.
