The proper way to contour one’s face

MANILA, Philippines - Radio Frequency (RF) treatment is the rage right now when it comes to non-invasive beauty procedures. It’s basically facial contouring as it tightens the skin, making it look firmer, leaner and more revitalized.

However, not everyone can afford the treatment or have the time to get such treatment. But that doesn’t mean you cannot achieve a contoured face — the secret is simply the use of a matte bronzer. The key is to know where to place such contours to get the “more taut” or “more pronounced” angular face. This is especially applicable to those with round-shaped or fuller faces.

A bronzer can be a product labeled as “bronzer” or a face powder/foundation that’s at least three to four shades darker than your own foundation. Just remember to use a matte formulation. The tiniest amount of shimmer or sheen will only reflect light, which will have the opposite effect by making the face look bigger.

Using a medium-sized or better yet, an angled blush brush, there are four key facial locations where the bronzer must be applied:

Step 1. Hollows of the cheeks

Suck in your cheeks. The hollow area underneath your cheekbone is where you apply the bronzer. Start from the hairline down where it’s darkest towards right beneath the apples of the cheeks where the bronzer is less concentrated and fades.

This instantly slims down the sides of your face and gives your cheekbones an added lift.

Steps 2 and 3. Nose line and jawline

Right on the sides of your nose, starting from the eyebrows, down to the side tips of your nose, make your nose look sharper by using a medium-shaped blending brush.

To make the jawline more pronounced and even, conceal a possible double or sagging chin, brush on the bronzer right along jawline, starting from underneath the ear all the way down to the chin.

Step 4. Forehead

To create a slimmer, more oval-shaped face (the ideal face shape), “push in” the upper corners of the face by bronzing the temples.

The final result is a more sophisticated, angular and leaner face minus the added costs and travel time to the doctor.
