Curves ahead!

Are you anxious about going to the beach because you might have to actually wear a bathing suit? Maybe it’s because you’re not sure which styles or colors are right for you.

Well, this is precisely why you need to choose the styles and colors that will suit your body. The secret is to choose a bathing suit that you feel confident and comfortable wearing.

Plus-sized women need not worry, too. Most of the stores featured in this spread carry plus-sized and maternity bathing suits. Some stores also carry lots of bathing suits with matching skirts for those who are bottom-heavy or pear-shaped. There are no excuses anymore for not wearing a bathing suit. Do away with those horrible T-shirts over bathing suits or wearing walking shorts over your one-piece suit. They look silly! Besides, the more you try to cover your "flaws," the more they show, anyway.

If for some reason, a bathing suit is not for you, go for women’s rash vests and board shorts available in surf shops and athletic stores. Choose bright and fruity colors. Pink board shorts are hot! Just think of the movie Blue Crush.

So if you’ve purposely missed out on a great time at the beach during the holidays, hit the stores and prepare yourself for another chance this Labor Day weekend or a much-needed summer vacation to chill out. Get a healthy tan on your newly-purchased swimwear.

Have fun under the sun!

• Sporty –
Athletic style swimwear with razor back cuts usually provide good upper body support.

• Maillot
– Sexy without revealing too much skin. This style works with any body type.

• Tankinis –
For the top-heavy or those uncomfortable about showing their tummies, tankinis (tank tops) work wonders!

• Stripes –
Make stripes work for you! Vertical lines and slightly slanted lines are your friends. They give you extra curves when you need them and they make some of your body parts appear slimmer.

• Skirt it –
Bathing suits with matching skirts are best for the pear-shaped or bottom heavy. They are a good combination for a long stroll at the beach, too!
