BIGBANG adds Manila comeback to 20th anniversary tour
MANILA, Philippines — K-pop group BIGBANG will return to the Philippines after over a decade as part of its 20th Anniversary World Tour.
BIGBANG went on hiatus after its "Last Dance" tour concluded back in December 2017, which mostly went around Japan as members completed their mandatory military services.
Since then, some members departed from label YG Entertainment to focus on solo careers, with the embattled Seungri and lead rapper T.O.P leaving the group in 2019 and 2023, respectively.
Earlier this year, the remaining members Taeyang, G-Dragon, and Daesung reunited at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where the group announced the upcoming tour, which the label confirmed last month.
Manila was initially not included in the 31-date itinerary; however, a recent update showed the Philippine capital, as well as two concerts in Oakland, United States, are in the official itinerary.
BIGBANG is slated to perform at the SMDC Festival Grounds — a first for a K-pop group — on February 20, 2027, just before the tour ends a week later in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
This will be the group's first time in the Philippines since July 2015 when the original line-up performed at the Mall of Asia Arena for its "Made" world tour. Last year, Taeyang and G-Dragon made individual visits for their own solo concert tours.
The boy band is best known for hits like "Fantastic Baby," "Ringa Linga," "Good Boy," "We Like 2 Party," and "Still Life."
