'Quezon,' Maris Racal win big at 9th EDDYS

MANILA, Philippines — Jericho Rosales, Maris Racal and the movie “Quezon” were big winners at the recently concluded 9th EDDYS or Entertainment Editors’ Choice of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd).

Jericho Rosales won Best Actor for the movie “Quezon,” while Maris Racal won Best Actress for “Sunshine.”

Jerrold Tarog was named Best Director for “Quezon,” which also won Best Picture.

Rochelle Pangilinan won Best Supporting Actress for “Child No. 82.” Rico Blanco and Will Ashley tied for Best Supporting Actor for “Manila’s Finest” and “Bar Boys: After School,” respectively.

Best Picture: “Quezon”

Best Actor: Jericho Rosales (“Quezon”)

Best Actress: Maris Racal (“Sunshine”)

Best Director: Jerrold Tarog (“Quezon”)

Best Supporting Actor: Will Ashley (“Bar Boys: After School”) and Rico Blanco (“Manila’s Finest”)

Best Supporting Actress: Rochelle Pangilinan (“Child No. 82: Anak ni Boy Kana”)

Best Screenplay: Jerrold Tarog and Rody Vera (“Quezon”)

Best Cinematography: Moises M.M. See (“Salvageland”)

Best Production Design: Monica Sebial (“Quezon”)

Best Editing: Benjamin Gonzales Tolentino (“Sunshine”)

Best Sound: Roy Santos and Neil Diokno (“Manila’s Finest”)

Best Musical Score: Frederik Sandoval and Emerson Tecson (“Manila’s Finest”)

Best Theme Song: "Sandalan" (“Manila’s Finest”)

Best Visual Effects: Bien Michael Caralian, Vincent Cheng, Jimmy dela Cruz, Santelmo Sudio (“Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins”)

Movie Icons: John Arcilla, Edgar “Bobot” Mortiz, Rio Locsin, and Janice de Belen

Isah V. Red Award: Chaye Cabal Revilla and Donny Pangilinan
