MANILA, Philippines (Updated 10:06 a.m.) — Several local government units have suspended classes for Friday, September 5, due to the southwest monsoon or habagat. 

State weather bureau PAGASA said that the southwest monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Luzon and the western section of Visayas on Friday.

Below is a running list of class suspensions:

National Capital Region

  • Caloocan City – all levels, public and private
  • Las Piñas City – all levels, public and private
  • Malabon City – all levels, public and private
  • Marikina City – all levels, public and private
  • Parañaque City – no face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private
  • Pasig City – Kindergarten to Senior High School, public and private
  • Pateros – no face-to-face classes from Child Development Centers, Elementary, Junior and Senior High Schools
  • Quezon City – Child Development Centers, Grades 1 to 12, Alternative Learning System, public (afternoon classes only)
  • San Juan City – all levels, public and private
  • Valenzuela City – no face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private

Region II (Cagayan Valley)

  • Isabela province
    • Santiago – all levels, public and private

Region III (Central Luzon)

  • Bulacan province
    • Meycauayan – Kinder to Grade 12, public and private; alternative learning mode
    • Sta. Maria – Day care to Senior High School

CAR (Cordillera Administrative Region)

  • Baguio City – Preschool to Grade 6, public and private
