US seeks Quiboloy’s extradition

MANILA, Philippines — The United States is seeking the extradition of accused human trafficker and sex offender Apollo Quiboloy, Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez said yesterday.
Washington sent the necessary extradition documents to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in June, according to Romualdez.
Sought for confirmation of the extradition request, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla told reporters he would “know later.”
The founder of the Davao-based Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) ministry is facing multiple charges in the US, including sex trafficking, conspiracy and immigration fraud.
Prosecutors in the US allege that Quiboloy and his aides were sexually abusing female followers including minors. He is also accused of using his sect and its connections to illegally bring some victims to the US.
He has been detained in the Pasig City jail since November last year. He was arrested in Davao City in September 2024.
