MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has officially removed from its roll of members the An Waray party-list after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) disqualified the group for allegedly violating the law governing sectoral representatives in Congress.

House Deputy Majority Leader Janette Garin manifested in plenary session the notice they received from Comelec, dated Aug. 14, declaring the “finality and entry of judgment” canceling the registration of An Waray.

“I move that the secretary-general be directed and execute and implement the resolution accordingly, and drop the An Waray party-list representative from the rolls of members of the 19th Congress (2022-2025),” Garin said.

An Waray’s nominee Bem Noel was effectively removed from the House roll of lawmakers.
