MANILA, Philippines — Former Negros Oriental governor Pryde Henry Teves yesterday urged his brother, Rep. Arnie Teves, to come home and face charges.
“If you are listening to me, all your (family…) it is better to come home,” Pryde Teves said in an interview with reporters.
The lawmaker has been abroad since late last month, days before the murder of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo.
He was being considered as the potential mastermind in the murder of Degamo, authorities earlier said.
In another interview, Pryde said that if the president himself assured the security of his brother, it is “already safe enough.”
“Maybe to stop all these and shed light on everything, maybe it is time to come home,” he added.
Pryde also said he is subjecting his information and will be waiving “everything” so they can “open everything up.”
Pryde bared that he was also told by his lawyers to expect being implicated in the crime because he was the election opponent of Degamo.
Probers have said several possible masterminds are being eyed in the March 4 assassination of Degamo at his home in Pamplona town.
