PhilHealth expands dialysis sessions to 144

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth’s) coverage for hemodialysis sessions in the country has been extended from just 90 sessions to a total of 144 until the end of December this year.

In an advisory issued Friday night, PhilHealth said its board of directors approved the expansion. Relevant guidelines would be issued soon through a circular, PhilHealth said.

While awaiting the guidelines, regional offices and concerned healthcare facilities should continue honoring all hemodialysis procedure beyond the 90-session limit as duly prescribed by PhilHealth accredited physician.

PhilHealth Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Eli Dino Santos signed the advisory.
