Mark Villar tops senatorial survey anew

MANILA, Philippines — Former public works secretary and senatorial candidate Mark Villar again topped the senatorial survey conducted by pollster RP-Mission and Development Foundation (RPMD).

The RPMD pre-election survey showed Villar topping the Senate race with a 63.7 percent voter preference, followed by Sorsogon Gov. Francis Escudero (58.2 percent), Antique Rep. Loren Legarda (57.9 percent), broadcaster Raffy Tulfo (55.3 percent), former House speaker Alan Cayetano (49.6 percent) and Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri (46.1 percent).

In seventh to 12th place were Sen. Win Gatchalian (45.3 percent), Sen. Richard Gordon (39.7 percent), Sen. Joel Villanueva (37.2 percent), former senator Jinggoy Estrada (36.5 percent), former presidential spokesman Harry Roque (33.7 percent) and Sen. Risa Hontiveros (33.5 percent).

Ranking 13th to 15th were former mayor Herbert Bautista (32.8 percent), former vice president Jejomar Binay (30.1 percent) and actor Robin Padilla (28.3 percent).

“I am happy with the RPMD survey result. I value greatly the support and trust of Filipinos. It is a big honor to top the survey,” Villar said in Filipino.

He also emerged on top of RPMD’s preferred senatorial candidate survey in November 2021.

Villar is in the senatorial lineup of the UniTeam of presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
