Pagasa monitoring LPA off Surigao

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring a low-pressure area that has entered the Philippine area of responsibility.

At 3 a.m. yesterday, the low-pressure area was estimated based on available data at 555 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

This developed while the northeast monsoon was affecting Northern Luzon.

“Mindanao, Eastern and Central Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the low-pressure area,” the PAGASA bulletin noted.

The Bicol region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought by the tail end of a cold front.
