MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Military Academy officials believe that the recent death of a cadet was due to hazing.

According to a report from ONE News, PMA officials said Cadet Fourth class Darwin Dormitorio might have died of blunt force trauma due to hazing.

A Baguio police medico-legal have also confirmed that the PMA plebe died due to hazing, ABS-CBN News reported.

Earlier this week, the PMA said it was coordinating with the Philippine National police and the National Bureau of Investigation in investigating the death of the 20-year-old cadet from Cagayan de Oro.

Dormitorio was reportedly brought to the PMA Station Hospital when he started vomiting inside the barracks of Fort Del Pilar in Baguio City.

The cadet was later declared dead upon being brought to the hospital. Initial reportes indicated that Dormitorio died of cardiac arrest secondary to internal bleeding. — Patricia Lourdes Viray
