Expect rains on election day — PAGASA

MANILA, Philippines — Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms on Sunday and election day Monday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
This is brought about by the approaching low pressure area embedded in the intertropical convergence zone over the regions.
Luzon will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with afternoon rainshowers or thunderstorms, particularly over the Cordillera Administrative Region.
"Light southwesterly to westerly winds will prevail over Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao while light winds blowing from the southwest and southeast is expected over the rest of Luzon," PAGASA said in an advisory.
On Saturday, the whole Philippines will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
The state weather bureau warned that these rains may cause flash floods or landslides in high-risk areas. — Patricia Lourdes Viray
