Trillanes couldn’t care less on access to Duterte accounts
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said yesterday that he couldn’t care less who is given access to the bank accounts of President Duterte as long as he actually makes good on his word to do this.
Responding to the statement made by the President that he would allow anyone to look into his bank accounts except Trillanes, the senator said that he would call the bluff of Duterte for as long as the information would come out in public.
Trillanes has been daring the President to sign a waiver on the secrecy of bank deposits and open his accounts to public scrutiny.
He alleged that Duterte and his family maintained accounts in various banks and that the accumulated deposits in these would amount to over P2 billion, a claim that the President has denied.
