San Juan gets P2.4 M from DILG

MANILA, Philippines — The city government of San Juan will receive P2.4 million from the Department of the Interior and Local Government for winning the DILG’s Seal of Good Governance award for 2017.

Mayor Guia Gomez will receive the award from Maria Lourdes Agustin, DILG National Capital Region director, during flag-raising ceremony at the city hall compound in Barangay Pinaglabanan today.

Gomez will use the money to finance her priority projects, including the 7K program – Kaunlaran, Kabuhayan, Katahimikan, Kalusugan, Kalinisan, Kalikasan and Kalinga sa Pamilya, according to city public information officer Grace Pardines.

The mayor returned to work last week after going on leave for a month.

Gomez is facing a recall petition filed by at least 30,000 supporters of her political rival, former vice mayor Francis Zamora.
