MANILA, Philippines — Senator Grace Poe was saddened by the clash between Sens. Richard Gordon and Antonio Trillanes IV as she hoped that it would not reach to filing of ethics complaint since there are a lot of work to be done in the Senate.
“Siyempre nakakalungkot rin ang nangyaring yan dahil mga kasama ko yan, pero ang ninanais ko sana, hindi na humantong ito sa isang ethics hearing on ethics complaint,” Poe said in an interview this Friday.
“Maganda sana na pag-usapan nila nang maayos, wala ng complaint na papasok para hindi na rin mabawasan ang oras ng bawat senador sa iba pang mga trabaho namin,” she added.
Gordon and Trillanes were caught in a verbal tussle on Thursday during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s investigation into the P6.4 billion shabu shipment from China that pass through the Bureau of Customs.

Trillanes hit the committee chair Gordon as “committee de abswelto” after he asked the panel to invite Davao Vice Mayor Paolo “Pulong” Duterte and lawyer Manases “Manse” Carpio since their names were frequently mentioned by Bureau of Customs broker Mark Taguba.
He accused Gordon and Senate Majority Floor Leader Vicente Sotto of “lawyering” for the son and son-in-law of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Maganda sana yung dalawang sangkot dito, yung involved, sila muna ang mag-usap. Humingi ng tawad kung sino man ang dapat humingi ng tawad,” Poe proposed.
“Hindi kaya mas matutuwa pa ang smugglers at drug pushers na nakatuon ang isyu dito sa internal na pag-aaway imbes na nakatuon sa talagang isyu na dapat maalis ang katiwalian dito sa mga ahensya ng gobyerno,” she added.
Trillanes, meanwhile, welcomed the threat of Gordon to file ethics complaint.
