MANILA, Philippines — Incoming president Rodrigo Duterte revealed that the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) has submitted a list of 10 nominees for Cabinet positions.

Duterte earlier offered several top government posts — Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) — to the leftist group.

Duterte added that most of the CPP nominees are from the University of the Philippines. The nominees are for the positions that he earlier offered.

"'Yan ang hiningi nila," the incoming president said.

The incoming president also noted that he had met with National Democratic Front of the Philippines spokesperson Felix Agcaoili and discussed peace talks.

"We agreed on the framework of how to proceed with the peace talks, and maybe in God's good time, I told Fidel that meron pa naman dadating sa atin na we'll have to stop talking about being left or being right," Duterte said.

Duterte is also eyeing to meet with fugitive Moro National Liberation Front founder Nur Misuari in Jolo, Sulu.
