MANILA, Philippines — Presumptive president Rodrigo "Rody" Duterte on Monday said that he will offer Cabinet positions to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) if they decide to work with his government.

Duterte said in a press conference that he is willing to concede the Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Labor and Employment, and Department of Social Welfare and Development to the leftist group.

The presumptive president added that he is offering the Labor post to the "most vigilant group in the Philippines" as they claim that it is the most oppressed sector.

"Marami pang iba but those are the only departments I can concede to them," Duterte said.

Duterte has also revealed some of his prospective Cabinet members — Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano for the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) or Department of Justice, Perfecto Yasay as acting DFA chief, Carlos Dominguez for Department of Finance, Art Tugade for Department of Transportation and Communications, Peter Laurel for Department of Education, and Salvador Medialdea as Executive Secretary.

Duterte's spokesperson Peter Laviña earlier said that the presumptive president will pattern his Cabinet after the lineup of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Trudeau formed the first ethnically diverse Canadian Cabinet with an equal number of men and women.

The incoming administration is looking for Cabinet officials with a shared vision, integrity, competence or ability and willingness to sacrifice, the spokesperson said.
