MANILA, Philippines - The Department of National Defense (DND) will spend at least P84 million to buy ammunition for sniper rifles and machine guns to enhance the country’s military security operations.

A bid bulletin posted on the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System website said the project involves the supply and delivery of 7.62mm finished components for the government arsenal.

The bidding, which will be open to local and foreign bidders subject to the eligibility conditions provided in the implementing rules of the procurement law, will be held next month.

Interested bidders should have completed, within the last five years from the date of submission and receipt of bids, a contract similar to the project.

Prospective suppliers may buy a complete set of bidding documents at the DND Bids and Awards Committee secretariat in Camp Aguinaldo for P50,000. The documents may also be downloaded from the website of the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System provided that the bidders would pay for them before the submission of bids.
