BI deports gambling lord to China

MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Thursday confirmed the deportation of Chinese gambling lord Wang Bo.

BI Spokesperson Elaine Tan said that Wang was escorted by four Chinese nationals and boarded Flight CZ3078 bound for Guangzhou, China on Thursday, 9 a.m.

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima issued the summary deportation (SDO) order for Wang last March.

“The deportation was in compliance with an August 4 resolution from the Secretary of Justice directing the immediate implementation of the March 5 Summary Deportation Order against Wang,” Tan said.

BI enforced the SDO a day after De Lima issued a resolution denying Wang’s appeal to suspend his deportation.
