Delfin Lee’s lawyer is new BI associate commissioner

MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Immigration has announced the appointment of lawyer Gilbert Repizo as the new BI associate commissioner.

Repizo is the former legal counsel of Globe Asiatique Realty Holding Corp. founder and president Delfin Lee, who was arrested and detained for syndicated estafa.

In a statement released yesterday, the bureau said Repizo takes over the post vacated by then Associate Commissioner Siegfred Mison who was promoted to commissioner on Dec. 18, 2013.

“We welcome Associate Commissioner Repizo to our BI family. The Board of Commissioners and the rest of our personnel look forward to working with him in the coming days,” Mison said.

Repizo said he is “happy to be back and see former colleagues.”

He first joined the BI in 1996 as a technical assistant to then Associate Commissioner Jose Lopez.
