Cloudy skies, isolated rains expected over Metro Manila - PAGASA

MANILA, Philippines - Most parts of the country might get a respite from the summer heat due to the cloudy skies and isolated rains expected on Monday, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its daily weather bulletin that Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

This is while a low pressure area last located at 1,010 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar continues to approach the country, PAGASA said.

The agency said the easterlies will continue to affect North Luzon while moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon and over Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Light to moderate winds coming from the east to northeast will prevail over the rest of Visayas and of Luzon and from the north to northwest over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.
