MANILA, Philippines - Senate Minority leader Juan Ponce Enrile tried to ignore Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago during her privilege speech on Wednesday.

The senator was seen playing the popular game "Bejeweled" on his tablet computer inside the Senate session hall.

In her speech, which was a response to Enrile's, Santiago fired back a list of accusations against her rival, whom she called a "womanizer" and the kings of smuggling, gambling and illegal logging.

She reiterated that Enrile is the brains of the alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam.

Santiago added that Enrile never reached levels of professional recognition that she attained.

"Instead, he spends his time with his tablet while the Senate is in session. Please feel free to compare my résumé to his, since my biography appears in Wikipedia," Santiago said.

After Santiago's speech, Enrile took the floor and decried Santiago's "personal assaults."

"She presented herself as my best evidence to prove the points that I said in my previous privilege speech," Enrile said.

In his speech last week, Enrile lashed out against Santiago, whom she called an "obsessive hater."
