MANILA, Philippines - A 21-year-old British-Filipino singer made it to the blind audition of the British television talent show The Voice.

A report posted on ABS-CBN news online said Joseph Apostol’s  rendition of Carole King’s “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” caught the attention of The Voice UK judges Jessie J and Tom Jones.

Danny O’Donoghue and will.i.am are the other judges.

Apostol said it was a dream come true when Jones turned and picked him for his team, the report said.

“I was really excited because you know, he is one of the most iconic persons ever in the music industry, so it was really great to have him turn around,” he was quoted as saying.

The report said Apostol is determined to fulfill his dream of being a singer. He dedicated his victory to his mother who has worked as a nurse in Britain for more than a decade.

Apostol came to the UK when he was 10.

The show started last March 30. There are four different stages to the show: producers’ auditions, blind auditions, battle rounds and live shows.
