All sytems go for Shore It Up Subic

MANILA, Philippines – The MPIC Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corp., is spearheading the 4th Shore It Up at the Subic Bay Freeport in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup Day on Sept. 15-16.

With the theme “Rescue, Restore and Revive,” this year’s activity will include a coastal cleanup, tree planting along Tipo road, while its dive partners will do underwater cleanup and install artificial reefs.

Taking part in this environmental activity are the employees of MPIC, the MVP Group foundation called Tulong Kapatid, academic institutions, local groups, local government units, dive operators and clubs.

This year’s activity will clean up the beaches of Subic Bay and neighboring villages in Olongapo City, which are frequented by tourists.

Shore It Up was given the Award of Merit last year at the 47th Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) for its environmental preservation efforts at the Hundred Islands Nature Park in Alaminos City, Pangasinan.
