Noynoy bucks hero's burial for Marcos
MANILA, Philippines - Liberal Party presidential candidate Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III is still opposed to the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani 24 years after the late dictator was toppled in a peaceful revolution.
He said Nacionalista Party standard-bearer Sen. Manuel Villar Jr. agreed to the burial obviously because the son of Marcos is in the NP Senate slate.
Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. had been elected governor and then congressman of the province and is rating well in the senatorial surveys.
“I would like to apologize to all those who love him, but he (Marcos) served for a long time and what good things could we say about it? What had he done?” Aquino asked.
