Ang-See hails Lozada courage, chides Apostol racist remark

MANILA, Philippines – Anti-crime crusader Teresita Ang See praised yesterday the courage of Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr., who testified before the Senate yesterday regarding the aborted national broadband network deal with China’s ZTE Corp.

She also chided Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Sergio Apostol for joking that Lozada, who is of Chinese decent, be deported for “making trouble” as a “probinsyanong Intsik.”

In a statement, Ang-See, founding president of the Kaisa Para sa Kaunlaran, Inc. and spokeswoman of the Citizen’s Action Against Crime (CAAC), said Kaisa is proud of Lozada for  “saying the truth.”

In a statement, Ang-See said “(Apostol) should work to exile corrupt public servants instead and fill up the Philippines with upright people regardless of ethnic origins, that’s the only way our country can truly be great again.”

“All of us Filipinos take pride in having a Jun Lozada in our midst. For Tsinoys especially who often prefer to be bystanders, we salute him for standing up for what is right.”  Evelyn Macairan
