MANILA, Philippines — Filipino rock band Chicosci will mark the 20th anniversary of its milestone self-titled album with a special show on June 6.

The "Chicosci" album from 2006 carried the singles "A Promise," "7 Black Roses," "Chicosci Vampire Social Club," and "Last Look," the release as a whole considered to be a turning point for the Filipino rock scene.

Guitarist Mong Alcaraz said in a statement the album was a test for the band, recalling how upon its release it was a strange time for local music.

"For the first time, we decided to do everything ourselves — writing, recording, production, marketing, packaging, and distribution," Alcaraz said. "It was our first step as an independent band, and we've remained that band since."

Chicosci will be performing their eponymous album in full during the "A Toast to All Our Crimes" concert in Soundcheck Inc., Pasig.

"We've been rehearsing a lot for this show, and we're excited for people to experience it — even our soundcheck, if they're into that," teased vocalist Miggy Chavez.

Coinciding with the milestone concert is the vinyl release of the "Chicosci" album, a first for the 30-year-old band.

"I think it's important for us to celebrate this album because it resonated with so many people," added Chavez. "It means a lot to us, and it's mind-blowing that it continues to mean a lot to others as well."

The singer went as much to call the album a turning point for Chicosci, and marking its 20th anniversary was a testament of how far the band has come with supporters in tow.

Chicosci will not be alone at the show as fellow rock band Kamikazee will share the stage with them.

A regular ticket to the concert goes for P1,666, while the limited VIP tickets — inclusive of soundcheck access, a meet & greet opportunity, and an event shirt — cost P2,666.
