K-pop group with members from EXO, SHINee, NCT to debut in October

MANILA, Philippines — A new boy group composed of members of K-pop acts EXO, SHINee and NCT will debut in October, SM Entertainment announced Thursday.
The boy band called Super M will have established K-pop stars Taemin of SHINee and Kai and Baekhyun of EXO as its members. They will be joined by their juniors from NCT: Taeyong, Mark, Ten and Lucas.
SM Entertainment dubbed the experimental new group as “The Avengers of K-pop.”
Lee Soo Man, the entertainment company’s founder, unveiled the plans for the collaboration group at a presentation in Los Angeles, Soompi reported.
Super M will make its debut on the American music scene in October and will focus on overseas promotions.
But fans of EXO, SHINee and NCT have varying opinions on the new boy band. While some expressed support for the collaboration group, others called on SM Entertainment to focus on the members' original groups or individual activities instead.
Last June, NCT sub-unit NCT 127 went to Manila for the K-pop World Music Festival.
EXO, meanwhile, will return to the country on August 24 for EXO-PLANET #5 –EXplOration concert.
