Blackpink's Lisa to star in Netflix rom-com

MANILA, Philippines — Acting projects are beginning to flow in for Thai artist Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa of the Korean girl group Blackpink.
The singer just made her acting debut in the third season of "The White Lotus," set in her native Thailand, and was tapped for a spin-off film in Netflix's "Extraction" franchise.
The streaming platform is approaching Lisa again, this time for a romantic-comedy movie which reunites with a "The White Lotus" executive producer David Bernad.
According to Hollywood outlet Deadline, Lisa and David developed a premise for the project over their shared appreciation for "Notting Hill."
The iconic 1999 film starred Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant and remains today one of the most beloved rom-coms.

Lisa and David then reportedly tapped "Booksmart" and "Don't Worry Darling" screenwriter Katie Silberman to pen a script.
David will produce the film through Middle Child Productions studio. Katie will always produce as she has an exclusive, multi-year creative partnership with Netflix, in fact she is writing "Most Dangerous Game" for the platform.
Apart from acting, Lisa will serve as executive producer alongside Alice Kang, Lisa's colleague in her management label LLOUD.
Lisa was recently presented as an ambassador by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and is currently preparing for the release of Blackpink's fourth extended play "Deadline."
