Shuvee Etrata: I’m living the dream now
MANILA, Philippines — After ‘Pinoy Big Brother,’ Shuvee completely felt the outpour of blessings and described them as, ‘sobrang lala.’ Thus, she sees the importance of returning to her core to stay grounded. She has expressed delight at becoming debt-free and being able to afford big purchases for herself and her family.
MANILA, Philippines — Shuvee Etrata has always been open about her difficult childhood. She was born in Bantayan Island, Cebu, as the eldest of nine children, and at a young age, she learned to make ends meet by helping her maternal grandmother run her seaside food business.
Her life story is never complete without mentioning her love-hate relationship with her father. Although she was born in Cebu, she and her family also lived in Polomolok, South Cotabato, her father’s hometown.
It was Shuvee’s viral TikTok video that paved the way for her to enter show business. After her stint on “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB): Celebrity Collab Edition,” the Island Ate ng Cebu couldn’t be happier about the goings-on in her life these days.
“I am living the dream now, Tito Boy. So, I’m grateful and happy,” said Shuvee during our one-on-one for “The Talk” segment of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.” Her dream of building a house for her family and being able to put food on the table is now one step closer to reality. She plans to build two homes: one in Polomolok and the other in Bantayan.
“It’s for sure a process, Tito Boy. Nag-uumpisa po ako somewhere. Alam ko na po ‘yung lupa, nand’yan na po. ‘Yan po ‘yung mga process na uunahin ko kasi gusto ko rin bumili ng property dito sa Manila. Pero ‘yung uunahin ko po talaga is ‘yung bahay for my family.”
Aside from real property, Shuvee has also purchased a motorcycle for her father. She happily shared how her relationship with her dad has become better.
Her humble beginnings have shaped Shuvee into a resilient individual, especially in overcoming life’s ups and downs. Although she described her life as a rollercoaster ride before entering “PBB,” no amount of difficult situations can bring her down.
Looking back, Shuvee couldn’t deny the fruit of her hard work by saying, “At this point, worth it lahat ng sakripisyo. Yes, I never thought of surrendering because I was always faithful and hopeful for a better future. And I’m just right now so grateful.”
After “PBB,” Shuvee completely felt the outpour of blessings and described them as, “sobrang lala.” Thus, she sees the importance of returning to her core to stay grounded.
She expressed delight at becoming debt-free and making big purchases for herself and her family.
“God is good. Super,” she exclaimed. “Three years ago, I felt I was successful. I have the same feeling now. It’s just mas marami (blessings) in terms of volume. But I’m still grateful. I still have the same heart.”
Presently, Shuvee is working on numerous projects with brands and products, but she makes it a point to find time for acting and hosting projects. Earlier this year, Shuvee signed with Sparkle, the talent arm of GMA Network. She currently appears on
“Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” and is set to star with Dingdong Dantes in a series.
Although busy with projects, Shuvee acknowledges Anthony Constantino as her suitor.
It can be recalled that she gave him a rating of 7 out of 10 in previous interviews.
“It’s now 7.5 because he went to Polomolok, nanligaw sa parents ko doon. Pinagluto siya ng tatay ko. Inalagaan n’ya ‘yung mga kapatid ko. He also tried to get to know my extended family,” revealed Shuvee, who is also among “Unang Hirit’s” Funliners.
Shuvee also admires Anthony for consistently courting her, even though she has already told him that her family and career are her priorities.
“I actually asked him why he’s not pressuring me to answer yet, because I know many are assuming na kami na, that we are officially on. And he said, ‘Because I know you’re not ready yet. And I respect your priorities now.’ We just discussed this recently, Tito Boy. Talagang mas uunahin ko po talaga ‘yung family ko.”
