The ‘Singing Sweetheart ng Siargao’ won the grand prize of P2M as the big winner. She beat fellow housemates Isabel Lahog, Samantha Bernardo, Rob Blackburn and Brenda Mage. Anji may not have been successful searching for her long-lost father, but after more than 100 days in Kuya’s house, she has found a new family among the housemates and emerged stronger.

Young singer-actress Anji Salvacion joined Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 hoping to find her father and ended her journey on the popular reality TV show as the season’s big winner.

The “Singing Sweetheart ng Siargao” may not have been successful searching for her long-lost father, but after more than 100 days in Kuya’s house, she has found a new family among the housemates and emerged stronger.

“First of all, I want to really say thank you to God for giving me this opportunity and for giving me this biggest blessing in life. It’s not the title, but it is how people trusted me. That’s my biggest, biggest blessing,” said Anji, who won with 40.42 percent of the combined save and evic votes.

Anji won the grand prize of P2M as the big winner. She beat Isabel Lahog (18.2 percent), Samantha Bernardo (16.28 percent), Rob Blackburn (4.01 percent), and Brenda Mage (1.19 percent).

She first entered as a celebrity housemate and finished in the Top 2 alongside Alyssa Valdez. She returned a few months later to compete alongside the top housemates from the Celebrity, Adult, and Teens editions.

In the celebrity edition, Anji had to overcome multiple eviction nominations and news about the impact of Super Tyhpoon Odette on her family in Siargao.

In this interview, Anji shares who her besties were in the house, the unseen scenes, and what she discovered about herself.

Congratulations! What are your plans for the prize money you won as the PBB Kumunity Season 10 big winner?

“Honestly, I don’t know yet, but definitely, some of it will be used to help others for a good cause, and some part of it will be saved.”

Let’s do a throwback. What were your expectations before entering the PBB house? Did you expect to make it as one of the Celebrity Kumunity Top 2?

“I did not expect anything at all. I went in with a very low self-confidence and never expected to find myself there. I remember my goal before — not to be the first evictee. But God is so, so good that He has also blessed me with beautiful souls who have made me stronger and more motivated to share my life’s purpose — to spread love and kindness to everyone.”

Now, let’s talk about returning to the PBB house. Was it easier or harder to be a PBB housemate for the second time?

“It was much easier for me. Right after the Celebrity edition, I gained many learnings. Kuya really helped me with my self-esteem. The housemates, too. Hindi sila mahirap pakisamahan kasi sobrang babait nila and I’m glad that I just didn’t have friends in them, but a family. I like how always supportive we are of one another. They made me feel that PBB was not at all a competition. Kuya’s house is a bond builder.”

You were repeatedly nominated, but viewers and fans saved you each time. Did it give you confidence in staying on and winning the competition?

“As I said earlier, I never expected anything at all. That was why when I got saved from every eviction, I was always shocked. I’m so grateful to God for giving me one of my life’s blessings, my Sunshines, who became a part of me na rin and my second family in my journey.”

How did your experience in the PBB house help you in your search for your father?

“Kuya helped me find myself again. I was too drowned in pain when my dad went missing, which caused me to lose myself. Kuya and some of the housemates, especially Ate Sam, helped me realize that I was never alone. Then, it really hit me, and I realized that they were right. My family is still there for me, and they are doing their best to prevent me from feeling like something is missing. I love them so much. I love my dad so dearly and he will always remain in my heart.”

What was the most difficult task or challenge and how did you overcome it?

“Every challenge Kuya had given us was hard and all tasks were unpredictable. It was new each time, which made it exciting. However, the most difficult challenge was the very first time Kuya separated the housemates into two groups. Despite being so close to the other housemates, you felt so distant because you were not allowed to interact with them. This task also showed how much we see each other as family.”

Who were your closest friends among the housemates?

“Kuya Albie, Shanaia, Ate Sam, Mama Brends, Kuya Jordan and Benedix. And I won’t deny that KD has been one of my closest friends inside the house, even before entering the PBB house.”

How was it living in the PBB house with the Adult and the Teens editions’ Top winners?

“It was a colorful stay! Everyone gave a different kind of flavor to the house. We made a new family.”

Were there any important scenes or conversations that viewers did not get to see?

“They didn’t get to see the part where I had to make the hardest decision in my life and when I said that in order for him to grow or bloom, I had to hurt him.”

What did you discover about yourself after this experience?

“One of those discoveries was that I am receptive. It led me to find and know my purpose in life, which is to share my greatest goal of spreading love and kindness.”

After releasing a digital album and holding a digital concert, what projects can your fans expect from you in the coming months?

“I would say this famous line of Kuya, ‘Malalaman niyo sa takdang panahon.’”
