MANILA, Philippines — Actress Agot Isidro shared how she deals with "real-life kontrabidas."

Playing a "kontrabida" herself in the hit ABS-CBN revenge-drama series “La Vida Lena,” the actress got candid with her answers when asked about how she deals with a "kontrabida" during the virtual media con of the TV show last Monday.

“For me, (the key is) knowing yourself. Kilala ko ang sarili ko, and I know which battles to fight, which battles to just let go," she said.

"Alam ko 'yung mga ganyan – alam ko ang values ko, alam ko ang paninindigan ko. I know if I should take the battle all the way, if I should stop, or if I should just let it go,” she added.

Agot plays the feisty character of Vanessa Narciso in “La Vida Lena," who always bickers and fights with Janice de Belen’s Ramona Joaquin.

"La Vida Lena" follows the story of Lena (Erich Gonzales), who worked hard building her soap business despite a scar on her face. Narciso family wants to acquire her formula, resulting to Lena facing various challenges. Lena sought revenge with a new face and stature after many roadblocks.

When asked what was her favorite "tarayan moments" with Janice, Agot shared that it was their "red wine" scene.

"Siguro yung sinabuyan ako ng red wine (ni Janice). E suot ko noon, kulay puti," Agot shared in jest. "Si Janice, iniiwasan 'yung mukha ko!"

Janice agreed, saying:  "Siyempre iisipin mo agad, malagkit, mahirap alisin, at may mga eksena pa kami! Sabi ni Direk Jojo, hindi ano ka ba, sabuyan mo talaga. So nu'ng second take, hinagis ko talaga!"

Janice also shared her own approach in dealing with "real-life kontrabida."

“Pag kontrabida, lagi iniisip natin na tao siya. Pero ang pinaka malaking kontrabida are the situations that we put ourselves in. Nothing that happened in our lives na di natin na-allow, or di natin hinayaan. And if we think about it, sarili natin ang pinaka kontrabida kasi we put ourselves in those situations. It’s really about learning how to deal with it, pano mo haharapin. At the end of the day, it's really about you. How you are facing it and how you’re gonna get through it," Janice said.

Erich Gonzales, who plays the titular role of Lena, also shared her insights during the press con.

"'Di natin mako-kontrol ang mga bagay na ganyan. Pero how you will react, yan ang macocontrol mo. 'Yung mga bagay na di mo macontrol, you just pray about it. Eventually, God will give us the wisdom. Kung ano mga dapat gawin," she said.

"La Vida Lena" is airing its final week. The show is on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, and Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Viewers who use any digital TV box at home such as the TVplus box only need to rescan their device to be able to watch “La Vida Lena” on TV5 and A2Z.  The show is also available to viewers in and out of the Philippines on iWantTFC, while viewers outside of the Philippines can watch on The Filipino Channel (TFC) on cable and IPTV.
