Teachers' Month: Filipino teacher part of Netflix's 'Squid Game' cast
MANILA, Philippines — A Filipino actor is in the cast of hit Netflix series "Squid Game."
Christian Lagahit, a teacher by profession, took to his Instagram account to post photos of him with the cast of the number 1 trending show on Netflix in 22 countries, including the Philippines.
“Player #276 reporting to Studio C,” he captioned a post wherein he was shown in the Studio C of the series.
He also posted a photo with the actor who recruited him in the show to join the squad of the protagonists.
“Player 276 and Player 199 of Squid Game! Ladies and gents, meet my recruiter, my dear friend and bro @sangipaiya aka Ali in Squid Game!” he said in the post.
Christian also posted a photo of him with the bad guy in the show, Player 101.
“Raise your hand if you hate him in the drama series ‘Squid Game.’ Hate his character but not him coz he's one of the coolest and nicest Korean actors I met, Heo Sung Tae aka Jang Deok Soo or Player 101,” he said.
He also shared a photo of him with one of the main characters in the show, Jung HoYeon.
“I'm sure she's also one of your favorite characters in Squid Game, Jung HoYeon aka Kang Sae-byeok,” he said.
Also, he posted a photo of another female character.
“She may not be your favorite but she's one of my favorites in the set because of her bubbly personality and charm. She's the youngest in our team which is why we love her energy when filming. Ladies and gents, meet Lee Yoo Mi aka Ji Yeong in Netflix' Squid Game!” he said.
According to reports, Christian flew to South Korea in 2014 after quitting his job as a learning specialist in a call center company. He currently works as an English teacher and a content creator.
Apart from “Squid Game,” Christian was also cast in different Korean series, including “Space Sweepers,” “Crash Landing On You,” “The King: Eternal Monarch,” “Itaewon Class,” “Her Private Life” and “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty.”
