MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya singer Regine Velasquez's Valentine concert “Freedom: Regine Velasquez-Alcasid Digital Concert” has been postponed because the "Asia’s Songbird" was recently exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement sent to Philstar.com, ABS-CBN Events and IME said they regret the announcement and said that Regine is now in quarantine.

“ABS-CBN Events and IME regret to announce that 'Freedom: Regine Velasquez-Alcasid Digital Concert,' originally scheduled on February 14, has been postponed,” the statement said.

“Regine was recently exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and she is now in quarantine,” it added.

The concert producer said that the tickets sold with the original date will be honored for the new concert schedule to be announced soon.

“We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.  All tickets sold with the original date will be honored on the new 'Freedom' concert schedule, which will be announced soon,” it said.

“The health and safety of our artist and staff is our priority and we are thankful for your support and understanding,” it added.

Regine assured her fans on Twitter that she and her family are doing fine.

"Ok ako at ang family ko so don’t worry. We will announce the concert date as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your understanding," she said.

While she is not experiencing any symptoms, she is just feeling sore on her face after crying a lot because of the postponement.

"Sayang yung date natin no???? I was sooooo looking forward to it pa naman???? But don’t worry I’m ok. Maga lang face ko coz I’ve been crying ???? but like I said GOD has a plan and His plans are always better. Stay safe guys," she said.
