One of the leading ladies of the ‘40s and early ‘50s was Luningning. She might as well be called the star of Fernando Poe Sr.
Luningning was Poe’s leading lady in the costume epic Sagur (1949). She was also in the tearjerker Kasalanan Kaya, produced by Poe Sr. (1947).
Among her films were Siyudad sa Ilalim ng Lupa (1949) and Tubig na Hinugasan (1950). — RKC
